Most likely (or at least hopefully) the college/university that you’re attending makes you happy.  Sure you get overwhelmed with the school work and having a life outside of the classroom, but at the end of the day you’re happy to go there.  Even once leaving school your old Alma mater can be the defining factor of whether or not you actually were happy during college.  That’s why it’s important to choose a school that is guaranteed to make you happy.

Well cue Pharrell’s hit song “Happy,” because Rhe Princeton Review has named the colleges with the happiest students. The 2015-16 rankings were released Monday and were based on survey responses from over 100,00 students at 380 colleges and universities. The Princeton Review provides these rankings to help students choose the best schools to attend. Vanderbilt University in Nashville came in at number one with having the happiest students in the country.  The rest of the top five schools include: Virginia Tech, Claremont McKenna College, Kansas State University, and St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

This is a huge accomplishment for the private university since they were named the happiest in last year’s rankings as well, most likely due to how their campus operates. According to The Huffington Post, Vanderbilt’s entire campus is an arboretum, which makes the school grounds feel as residential and removed as a university in a college town, while still being just a few miles from the vibrant Nashville music scene.

When Vanderbilt received the top ranking last year, the school believed that it probably had to with its helpful financial aid that includes “grants rather than loans.” The school also maintains a balance between academics and social life, and due to this there’s no competitive pressure on campus.  Looks like Vanderbilt may be the place of happiness for the incoming college student.

Listed below are the top 10 colleges/universities for the happiest students:

1. Vanderbilt University

2. Virginia Tech

3. Claremont McKenna College

4. Kansas State University

5. St. Mary’s College of Maryland

6. University of Dayton

7. Clemson University

8. Whitman College

9. Rice University

10. Tulane University

Do you go to Vanderbilt University? Are you super happy?!
