Who’s going to see Jobs this weekend? If you don’t already know about it, it’s a biopic about the late, great co-founder and CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs starring everyone’s favorite prankster, Ashton Kutcher (who, by the way, bears a striking resemblance to a young Jobs. It’s almost disturbing, actually.) The drama looks like it will be incredibly inspiring and moving and we can’t wait to see it. And yes, we’re confident in Ashton’s abilities to be dramatic and inspirational — just look at his Teen Choice Awards 2013 speech.
With all this talk about Steve Jobs and the new movie, YouTube channel OfficialComedy decided that another famous techie was left out — Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Now, if you know anything about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, you’ll know that there’s a big difference between the two. While both have/had incredible genius and have shaped technology in incredible ways, character-wise we’d have to say that Jobs was a much more powerful and inspiring figure. It’s no surprise that OfficialComedy decided to parody Jobs with the a fake movie trailer for a film called Gates, made in a similar fashion. The trailer depicts Bill Gates as a wishy-washy, Spongebob Squarepants “imagination!” type with a crush on a paperclip. Yes, you heard correctly. The Bill Gates in their trailer is in love with (and makes out with) a paperclip named Clippy. Those of us who used Microsoft Word back in the day remember that all-too-helpful paperclip all too well. Speaking of Windows, fake Bill Gates got the name for the operating system by looking around the room. Yep.
Check out the fake trailer for Gates below and let us know your favorite part! (Ours was Clippy, duh.)
